Doesn’t it suck when you come home after an amazing vacation? I don’t know about you, but I always feel a bit sick in my stomach the first couple of days of being back. Sad to be home, sad to miss my friends in California, and sad to miss the shenanigans with the boys in Vegas. The worst part is going back to work and seeing your inbox overflowing with emails. However, I shouldn’t be feeling sad! The trip was amazing and I had an absolute blast! I’m fortunate that I was able to go on this trip and gain new friends out of it!
The trip to California almost seems to become a regular thing now. I have gone three times in the past two years. It is honestly one of my favourite places to visit. I am not sure what it is: the laidback California lifestyle, the beach, or the 365 days of sunshine. I can’t thank my friends in California enough for letting me stay with them and taking me around. Although, the weather in California was absolutely horrible during my time there: rain, rain, rain and 1 day of sun. Didn’t I just say 365 days of sunshine? Apparently, mother nature thought different when I was there. Though, it’s a good thing for California because they need it. I didn’t let that stop me from having a good time! I got to see my favourite beaches: Newport Beach, Huntington Beach and Laguna Beach. I got to do a little wine tasting in Malibu. I got to eat at my favourite restaurants: In-n-out, Yardhouse and Korean BBQ. More importantly, I got to see and hang out with my friends. I am honestly blessed to have such great friends and happy to gain another California experience out of it.
Oh, and what can I say about Las Vegas? “WOW.” What a city! I am not sure why it took me 32 years to visit this place but what an experience. I’m happy I was able to celebrate my friend’s bachelor parties there. In reality, it doesn’t matter where you go as long as you go with your best friends. Friends are really all that matters, and anywhere with these group of guys would have been a blast. I would love to provide more details about my Vegas experience but, “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.”
It’s amazing how quick ten days go by when you are on vacation. My trip to California and Vegas was absolutely incredible. I am very fortunate and thankful that I was able to take this trip. This trip provided me with a whole new experience and friends. At the same time, it has also given me some more food for thought on what I want to do with my living situation and life. Thoughts of moving to California have seriously crossed my mind while I was there. I guess part of my journey is to see if this is something I seriously want to consider. For now, I am just grateful that I was able to go on this trip.
